John, I'm also thinking about making my own, possibly to work on my Turf tiger for now, maybe a Gator for later. My day job is tool designer and I'm sure I could barter with a toolmaker to have him make what I design. After paying almost 3000 for my Lesco sidemount sprayer I think I could have made my own. I need to do some research on nozzle spacing/height from turf/flow rate. What kind of nozzles work best for large areas without alot of drift? I think if I could cover 15 to 20 feet I would be happy. Jet agitation would probably work good. Any thoughts/hints? What is a good source for parts? Westheffer?

I bought all of my fittings, nozzles, and hoses form my local dealer,It is all Teejet brand-I made it in 1990-so i donr remember how much it all cost, but i bought 2 diffderent units before I got fed up with them, and made my own. Both units were form Northern Tool, they still work, but it seems like there top of line units are homeowner models-and arent made 1/2 as good as mine.If I could have bought a unit like mine-I would've.
