Peco Deck Mounted Trimmer.

Has anyone tried these new deck mounted trimmers? They are motorized, with angling heads and arms that swing up out of the way. Gimmick or worth trying???

There was one on Ebay recently. I went to their website and looked at the specs. If I remember correctly, the current draw was about 20-30 amps. That sounds like a lot of continuous current draw to me for a lawnmower battery. I figured that if I did a lot of trimming with it, I'd run down my battery.

Besides, I have to leave something for my wife to do!

I had one on a mower once for about....... 10 minutes.

Put it this way, it took about 5 times longer to get the thing mounted and all the wires run than it was actually on the mower.

If they were any good, wouldn't the mowers be sold with them on?? Or at least an option right from the dealer???
