bright lime green grass creeping in my lawn

I have a kentucky blue grass lawn. for the last 15 years it has been perfect . the last few years i noticed a bright lime green grass in spots . It is starting to creep and spread all over . It is a fine blade grass but as I said the color is totally different . My lawn was a nice dark green and now is dark green with bright patches popping up all over . My neighbor down the street has a sod lawn that was installed a few years back and I see it in his lawn now also. Any idea of what this might be and what I can do about it ? Last season I aerated , Dethatched and overseeded with a Kentucky blend . I am in Mass . Any tips would be greatly appreciated .

If it grows faster than the regular grass and you can pull it out easily it might be nutsedge, we get a lot of it in our area, and your zone is the same as ours
