Help - Kohler Command 23hp carb question.

Here's the problem. Engine starts briefly on choke and then stalls after about 2 seconds. Engine will re-start immediately after but just stalls again in same manner. Tried running engine on full choke - would not run past the 2 seconds.

Fuel is getting to the carb. No obstructions in the carb/float bowl etc... clean as a whistle.

Thinking that it may be related to the solenoid control on the bottom of the float bowl (not too familiar with these carbs). Took the valve off and tired to test it by hooking the positive lead up to the postive side of a battery and hooking the valve body to the neg side of the battery. The results - nothing. No movement of the valve, etc... Not sure if this is a valid test - but makes sense to me.

Can anyone give me any help? or advice. Restrorob - I know you can help.

The test you performed on the fuel solenoid is the same I perform, If you hear no click or see no movement in the needle try moving the needle with your finger. You see that needle sits in the lowest point in the carb. so a piece of trash could have it gotten in there and caused it to stick, If it moves freely then the solenoid part it's self is burned out and needs to be replaced.
