shindaiwa vs stihl question

Hello. Has anyone tried out the Shindaiwa trimmer that is able to convert to a stick edger, pole pruner and other attachments? How does it stack up if anyone knows to the one from STihl. I am looking at both in the 4 mix or some variation at this time.

Not able to answer your question exactly, but I run all Stihl and my former partner ran shindawa. My stihl had/has more power, but his was lighter. Neither of us ran the convertible type though, if you are talking about the split shaft models. I think they are too heavy for everyday use. My stihl fs85 can have all of the attachments at the head though (edger, hedge, saw, etc).
