Ag tires on LX176

I have a JD LX176 lawn tractor that is used frequently at our cabin for going up a steep hill from the lake. The stock turf tires leave a lot to be desired in the way of traction and I'm wondering if it would be worth the time/expense to put real "tractor" tires and wheel weights on it. Do the ag tires help traction that much?

Thank you,

Joel B.

If it were me, I'd get the exact tire size and look into some ATV tires. You get a huge selection for every thing from hard pack to mud. Good Luck
