Line spraying-Oil v.s. Latex

Hi guys,
I was just wondering about the pros and cons about oil and latex paint, and what most people are using. I've been using oil based and would like to try latex, except I'm afraid I'll go over oil based lines and the paint won't sick. Is safer to just always use oil based?

Latex is used for freshly seal coated, or for newly paved, as the solvent in the oil based paint may react with, and partially dissolve the sealer, or the pavement itself.
Oil is used on cured pavement ( several weeks ) or unsealed pavement.

Most, including myself, feel the Alkyd ( oil ) if used on cured pavement, will have a longer lasting, and a better looking stripe.

There seems to be some great latex paint, but mostly seems to be in the states, not for us.

Hope this helps.

As a commercial sealcoating contractor I second everything that shep has written.
