Your Opinion!! Quickbooks or ????????
Recently bought Quickbooks Pro for $200. Seems to work well for Billing but kinda hard to Organize and set up my invoices or statements for monthly lawn service ITEMS.
I>E> Item: Monthly Lawn Service (May) I have Different Priced Contracts so it wont let me use a different price for that item. Any Suggestions? Also should I have gone with a different program for this.

once you enter an amount for a particular customer - add it to your memorized transactions list - next week, month or whatever the billing frequency is - just click it and your done

Fowen22,
QXpress is a software that integrates with QuickBooks. You need QB AND QXpress to run. They compliment each other VERY nicely. QuickBooks is great at accounting. But it does poorly on repeat billings that may vary in amounts, jobs etc. QB also does not do scheduling. If you do a search on the forum here, and other forums you may know about, you will find that QXpress is pretty much the heads up choice of the contractors. Now there are programs that stand alone and do not require QB to bill. Some others that "say" they'll integrate but if you ask around you'll find they integrate poorly. Yet the idea of integrated software is so that you always know your numbers by accessing just your accounting software. Why do double entry duty? Most of the original Clip Software power users I know have switched over to QXpress. Of all the mistakes I've made the worst was making the decision to settle on a business software that I would have to replace as my company grew in size and profitability. You end up having to re-learn a new software just when your focus should be on your next company expansion. Ugly lesson. QXpress will handle you all the way thru. Ask around or do that search. Shucks, they'll even rent to you on a monthly basis until you make up your mind it is what you want. In fact they'll allow the first three months rent to go 100% towards the purchase if you choose. You don't like it you cancel and walk away. You like it and buy you haven't lost a dime in rental. Win-win my friend. Hope all ends well. |

QXpress from alocet is the way to go.
I have been using it for 4 years now and I love it. I have 3/4 of my customers set up on contracts and once the info is put in a couple clicks and invoices are done in quickbooks. I also have the add on for the palm pilot and this has cut down on the paper trail I used to have.Their support is awesome.... check the program out www.alocet.com
