Has the engineer of your 48" w/b ever changed the oil on one before? You take out the drain plug and the oil runs all over the machine,on the belts below, and all over the floor. With the o-ring on the plug is it possible to add an extension of pipe to bring the plug further out to the edge of the chassis? My Hustler Z has an extension on it but not sure if it is even long enough. I like the equipment and had not complaints until my first oil change - what a mess!!!!!

The hose you need is part number 771378, list price is around 14.00
Next time you change your oil install this hose.
This hose is the hose used on Kawasaki engines on the shortcuts.
You will not have any mess after installing this hose.

Also, the drain on you Hustler Z is far enough over the rear frame to not make a mess.

Why don't you make this fifteen-dollar part standard equipment on the machines?? If you are aware of a problem, then good troubleshooting/customer service would dictate a change in design. Just my two cents worth. Easy/ cheap fix. I'm scratching my head over this one.

By the way, I have a healthy respect for the Hustler line. Awesome equipment that is over-built to take a pounding in the field day in and day out.
