TLS I started a thread with Ultracut deck pictures that you wanted. This Dixie thread is getting off course. Let me know if you need and specific measurements. The front inner baffle is 4" while the back is the full 5.5"

Sure the Dixie thread is off course there is nothing to talk about when it comes to the Junkie Chopper.

REALSLOW, Please at least respectfully show your bias towards the reputable Dixie Chopper brand.

I just looked at one today, I saw a guy mowing with it and had to stop and take a look to see if I was missing something. I am no mechanical engineer but from the look of it that thing was made like flimsy piece of junk compared to my Hustler. The quality looked 3rd rate in comparison, it was a 2700 I believe. The guy said it was a great mower however.

I have two 60n inch choppers and love them. I had a hard time getting use to midmount, but its ok now. I use to run grasshopper, but had bad deal with the dealer.

Didn't go back and read all these posts because it sounded like it was getting ugly, but my take on the Dixie Chopper having several of them(28hpEFI 60).
They are more idiot proof(employee proof) than Exmark and Scag, and yes I have owned them all. Comes down to dealer support and service if they do go down. To me Dixie is better than Exmark and Exmark is better than Scag.
But of course this is my opinion.

Hey Real Slow, your right about the DC's being ugly but bashing Harleys, come on now, I bet you ride a Honda or some other rice burner, LOL Go to HD and look at my bike, a 06 Black and White softail Deluxe, soweeeeet! But, to each their own, BTW I demoed a DC and didn't care for the deck height, never know how high you cut, have to use a ruler, come on now.... kinda like my 27 Tru Cut reel.

Actually I have logged quit a few but that was on the old Choppers of the late 80's when they were the top dog.The problem is the new Choppers look just like the old ones. The machine is really long in the tooth like a Harley but like I said a Harley is beautiful and a chopper is, well you no.

I don't care what anybody says I know my Hustler is way tougher than one of those things,I can tell just by looking at it. I do stuff to my Hustler that I know dam well would tear a Dixie up! Now mabey their new deck is better as of 2007 but the old deck would be in for the hammer treatment on a regular basis after we run into big roots and stumps going double digit speeds.
