31 hp Lazer XP

Well, I've had my new Lazer XP 31 hp 60" for almost a month now, so I thought I'd give you all some feedback. I have owned a 25hp 60" lazer for two years and I can sum up the difference in one word, "WOW". The 31 hp is such a notticable difference (yeah,I know 25 verses 31 )in power and the transfer of the power to the blades ( no shaking or bogging when engaging the blades ) I'm getting the foot lift for the 25 for sure. Still not to sure about the suspension seat ( nice but I think the new standard seat is more comfortable for me, 6'3" and 300lbs ) I know that it only goes 1 mph faster but it seems alot more than that, It seems I picked up an extra acre an hour. The one thing that could be a problem if it was any wetter than it is is the weight, 1500 lbs. Over all it was money well spent (and it was a lot spent this year with this machine and two new hydro ecs and two new trimmers)I give Exmark two thumbs up for the lazer XP and the Turf Tracer HP ECS.I can't wait untill fall when I'll get an Ultrvac for the new lazer.

Who makes that 31 hp engine on your eXmark?

Dihatsu (spelling?) also the diesel. The parts and warranty are through briggs and stratton. ???

I have read that is a good engine. That is a heavy rascal for a 60". I thought my diesel 60" was heavy at 1200 lbs. It sounds like with you on it and it full of fuel, your close to a ton.

That extra weight sure makes them ride nice though.

I notice the weight the most when it's on the trailer up and down hills, Your right, it does ride like a dream

How's the fuel efficiency on that diesel engingine as compared to the 25 Kolher? I've been pondering between the Kolher and the diesel. Maybe you could give me some insight between both engines. Thanks

It's not a diesel, but they do offer a diesel in a 27hp three cyl. as far a fuel goes it isn't that bad, not any worse than my 25 kohler

You gain fuel efficiency going to a Liquid-Cooled engine (Closer tolerances, tighter rings, etc.)

Air cooled - liquid cooled = +/- 25% fuel savings

You also gain fuel efficiency going from a LC Gas to a Diesel (Higher compression, longer burn, etc.)

LC Gas - (LC) Diesel = +/- 25% fuel savings

Air-Cooled Gas - Diesel = +/- 50% fuel savings.

The 26 Kohler EFI has a lot better gas mileage then the 25 Kohler. PLus has a lot of power, I'm not a Kohler fan, but I really liked cutting with the 26 Kohler.
