Is it just me or does it seem like we had a downpour every night? And now that the crabgrass is kicking into high gear it's getting really bad. I am having to wait until 10, 11 and 12 oclock just to start cutting. I am getting heavy crabgrass in lawns that never had any before. It must be this wet summer we're having here in the East.

I'm in Maryland. My customers lawns have not seen rain since Thursday. With the humidity nothing is drying out. It's about 1 PM and the humidity is running over 70%.

Hey folks, I wouldn't complain about the rain in the NE. This is the first season I can think of since I started into this biz 5 years ago, that I've been able to maintain a 7 day cycle on mowing going into August. The Fert guys are driving me nuts going happy horse **** on everyones lawn, making me feel like it's May cutting all over again. If this keeps up FALL is going to be a nut buster with fast growing grass and falling leaves.

I'm not complaining at all!!! BUT...I haven't stayed on schedule but for 2 weeks this whole year. My customers don't know what's going on. All they remember is that last year we were on track every week (however we had a drought and weren't cutting but maybe once or twice a month). In my opinion, LET IT RAIN, but my schedule is never on track. HELP!

TsLawn -- maybe some of those Florida guys would give up the beach bunnies, to visit the NE and help you out. At least till it start raining down there again.

I feel for all of you experiencing a drought right now. Last year we had rain in April and then it stopped. We had to scramble to find other work. This year is completely bizarre and I'm hoping this trend will continue for another 3 years. The drought took 3 years to peak so another 2 years of RAIN will make me happy. But my other areas of work are suffering, i.e., landscaping, pruning, tree removal, etc. Any suggestions?
