would there be any problems with putting a fuel filter on a 2-stroke engine?

My 10-year old lawnboy has a fuel filter out of the box (Briggs type).

Kubota L3350 w/front loader/r-12 bushog, my favorite. Encore 14hp 48 cut belt drive WB, undecided. Craftsman 20hp with 46 cut, pure crap. 4 push mowers, two of em runs. A weed eater, ARG. 3 horses,very reliable, run all day for just a few oats.
