city bid ?

Hey everyone, I have a quick question. I am going to be bidding on some vacant lots for the city. There is a total of 18 acres, each lot being between 2-5 acres. Rough terrain, tall weeds, mixed grasses and they only want it done once per month to keep it within code. The guy that did it last year disced the lots instead of mowing them leaving them in really bad shape. I was thinking to use a rough cut machine probably a 60"- 70". I will rent this unit from a local vender. I usually charge between $50-$65 per acre for regular grass with my own equipment. Should I charge more for the type of work this job will include.

1. Find out how much it will be to rent the equipment you will use.
2. Figure out how long it will take you equaling your total price due for the rental (if they charge by the hr).
3. Figure out how much you wan't to make net per acre.
4. Construct a bid and place it.

*Yes you should charge more...the grass will be twice as high, and it is rough terrain...If it were me I'd guess bidding it at around $1500-$1750 every two weeks...but then again I haven't looked into how much it would be to rent the right equipment.

Sounds like a descent $ making oppurtunity.....good luck....keep in touch man I'm in Dixon, IL....about 45 min away from you.
