Anyone have a 48"+ mower for under $1,000 they'll sell me? I got a new account with a big hill, and I can't put my Z on it(Ground Hog Landscaping did it, and lost the account because of the tears in their new lawn). I don't want to make a habit out of borrowing MCW's every week, so anything for around $1,000 that doesn't come with problems would be excellent!

i got done early (at 4) and headed down to connecticut to pick up the title for a step van i bought. it's being shipped up tomorrow and hopefully will be finished to run MMM in a week or two. i hear sun-tuesday is going to be rain?

Here is the project I just went to look at today. Landscape design basically from scratch. Over a acre of land in Westford Ma. Need to start with a cleanup of over 3 years worth of leaves and grind over 15 stumps. The plan will consist of a new walkway with a circle pack incorporated into it, granite steps, irrigation system, 2 retaining walls, foundation plantings and a bed along driveway, LOTS of loam (6" deep) and hydroseed to top it all off.

Ok so here is the progress on my Organic lawn care portion. This so far has started over over only 4 weeks.

4 weeks ago initial cleanup and dethatch

2 weeks ago aeration followed up with Corn gluten meal applied at 10lbs per thousand sqft with a 9% nitrogen level

this past monday- note some clover but NO dandelions and everyone else has them so the corn meal worked. Grass is over 5" in this pic and need to cut it now

Thanks Kris. Ya I still have so many more steps to go with it like the compost tea spray within the next month and compost top dressing and so on. If it continues to look as great as it does now I will be very happy.

Sad part is I haven't even turned the irrigation on at yet. This is just from the rain. Irrigation will be running 3 times a week and for longer times. This will encourage the roots of the grass to grow deeper into the soil. Deeper roots will make it more drought and heat tollerant.
