I do winter work for them but was wondering how they handle summer contracts. Does anybody do work for US Maintenance or Tower Cleaning?

The properties were 2 big box stores and a strip plazza. I did mowing, spring and fall clean ups, planting annual flowers by the enterance, shrub trimming, and mulching. I sub. out the weed control to a friend of mine. They started out fine paying within 7 days of billing but as the season went on they took longer and longer to pay. As far as how the summer contracts work is that their property manager contacts you and says we need this done at xyz store we are looking to spend x (or as I liked to call it as little as possible). The property manager did not like me because I always told him I would have to go out their and look at it myself and than I would get back to him. I always gave them a higher price than what they originaly told me they were looking to spend and as long as I was reasonabe they never had a problem paying. I would just send a contract for the specific service and when they sent it back to me I would schedule the service.

They owe me now over 7k in snow plowing. I got a lousy 105.00 check for q salting back in early jan. 2 days ago. Forget about 30 days.

I'm in my second year with them for full seasonal work, we landscape ten bank of Americas in the area and I plow them Cumberland farms and back up home depot. 30 days doesn't exist but i always get paid and they keep offering work, granted i don't accept everything because its either too far away or we don't do it or the money isn't right. I find that they are a good supplement to my reg work as it is known money.

So do they send you guys bid packets with job specs like snow removal or do they just ask you to bid it blindly and explain what work you bid on? I am getting tired of the 67 days to pay and if you send your invoices in late they bump them out to 97.....As of now they owe me over $20K for snow work.

does anybody know if they do work in st. louis, missouri area, and if so how do you get in contact with them about maintenance. Even with them being slow payers it sounds like a good way to increase workload.

STLlawnboy,

Be careful what you ask for! If you are willing to let them use your money for free, than you will most definitely have the "glorious opportunity" to service their premier properties. Don't worry, they will find you eventually.

Good luck and stay cautious.

Joe

I do know that they bought Daystar USA (now Daystar USM) last year and alot of the contracts that Daystar had US Maintenance will now start to handle. With that being said we have done both snow and landscape contracts with them and I will have to say that the US side is alot better to work for. Now one thing about them, the sites that they have are all know
commercial sites/stores and think of the other business you can generate
by servicing these properties, that is if you do good work.
