new lawn - sparse and moss starting to grow

i had a new lawn last summer- about 3 to 4 inches of loam over sand and gravel fill and then hydroseeded. it came in well but was then corrupted by crabgrass. i killed off the crabgrass but this left the front lawn of the home somewhat sparse which i intend to fix by overseeding next month.
the north-facing front lawn is lightly shaded and has begun to grow moss in some of the bare spots.
is it likely that the soil is too acidic? should i put down some lime? due to winter, the grass has turned very light and looks almost dead- i was thinking of putting down some starter fertilizer to give it a boost and to rent a slicer/seeder to add seed to the barespots.
any advice would be welcomed.
thanks, jallen191
