Thats my plan to be a full time firefighter and have a full-time lawn care landscape business. I have the lawn care landscape right know. Im looking to take an EMT class and then paramedic class and then go work with my brother in law. Hes been a full timer for about 5 years so i have an IN so i will get in with little or no problem. Ive wanted to do this for a long time but one thing at a time. Good benefits and two incomes cant bet that.

Another Georgia boy here. Been full time for about 14 years. Started my business as part-time a little over a year ago. I've been growing it very slowly trying to make sure I do every step right.
I only have 10 accounts and one complete school system which takes a full day itself. I've turned down more accounts that that for one reason or another. It definitely is hard for that first day off sometimes. We work 24/48 and we are very busy. Our station usually runs 30 calls/shift average between 3 trucks with the engine and med unit averaging at least 12/shift. We never sleep all night (actually got about 3 hours last night which is pretty good). Love both jobs. |

Some days it's pretty tough with very little to no sleep, but it's fun though. |

Full time for 17 years in the fire service for 22. Been Shift Lt. for 5 years also a paramedic since 93. Came from south side of Chicago and moved to the Green Bay area. Go Bears!!
Doing the lawn care biz since 1995 and call it my therapy. Some guys do siders in the hospital, I see enough sick people during the tour. Gimme the outside. I say that I have 2 full time jobs because I run my business as a business, no cash or scab dealing in my business. If you can't pay for my service at a rate that a man could raise a family from, you can go elsewhere. Good to see more brothers on the board. Stay safe.

Didn't realize who you worked for. My house runs with 19 a good bit on 85, if that gives you any indication what department it is. Stay safe man...got several buddies that work for Dekalb. I'm a hillbilly/ridgerunner. |
