Any difference?

Is there any difference in the John Deere residential mowers and other residential mowers? I heard that they were all manufactured at the same place. Would there be a difference in that mower at the John Deere dealer and at Home Depot?

well if you're looking at a JD707(w/ 25hp) at HD and then you go to the JD dealer and look at a JD707(w/ 25hp) theyre going to be the same, price might be different.

John Deere, Toro, and Cub Cadet are designed and manufactured by 3 totally independent companies. All three very respectable in their own right.

Im trying to figure out which mower to get. I want a commercial but cant afford it. John Deere has some affordable ones. And there are some department store mowers. I would like to get a demo model. What do you think?

Well a small commercial mower around here would be grasshopper, john deere, dixie chopper. They are kind of pricey so I dont know. It would have to be a demo. Homeowner version would be cub cadet, husqvarna, toro, jd. Im looking for about a 48"-50" cut range. May even have to look at a used mower.

are you looking at ZTR's? or w/b's. you can get a good used w/b for pretty cheap.a residential mower will be cheaper but if you plan on using it everyday, its not going to last too long. JMO

Hey Okie,
Go to John Deere's webpage...they have a link to used equipment...there you will find some decent commercial mowers for sale. You can put in your area and some local dealers will pop up with some mowers. I saw a 48" Deere Quik Trak for sale..about $4200...last week. My opinion, steer clear of residential stuff if you can.
