Honda or B&S Intek ?

I'm considering purchasing a Plugr PL400 lawn aerator. I can get it with a 5.5HP Honda or a 5.5HP B&S Intek. These are both the 6:1 gear reduction engines. Is the Honda worth an additional $435.00 ?? I'm pretty sure that I could buy a replacement B&S engine for that amount. It will not be used commercially

Briggs had lost of problems in the 80's with valve seats coming lose. That problem has been solved and I've had several since that have held up fine on small machines.

I'd save the $435

I'd save the 435 too, unless your going to run it non-stop.Most aerators run for a samll # of hours each season,so get the briggs.

I have the pluggr with the honda. I paid the extra, but wish I didn't. I love hondas and they will run forever, but you really don't run an aerator all that much. Can you really imagine running an aerator 3000 hours? It would take you many many years.

Oh, by the way, I think you'll love the little aerator. Its not as fast, but you aren't dead at the end of the day. Flowerbeds, trees and other obsticles are easy to go around. Unlike other brands.

Go w/ the Briggs I don't think you need the Honda. Intek's seem to be a pretty decent engine so far ED

Use up the Briggs. Then buy the Honda. You can buy it for less than $435 as a replacement engine.
