Winterization ?
Hey guys I'm new to pond installs and just completed my first one. I'm located in New Hampshire and after some reading on the subject, I still can't find definitive answers to proper winterization steps for the pond. I'm assuming that I remove the pump first, but after that do I remove the water? What about the plants? There aren't any fish at this point, so that's not a concern yet. It's only a 125 gallon preformed pond, not too deep. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Mike,
How deep is the pond? If it is 18-24" deep, you should be able to leave the plants in the pond over the winter. If it is shallower than that, you'll want to take the plants in over the winter, or treat them as annuals. Conor |
