General Mgr friend giving me as a referral to district MGR

A few years ago I did a real estate transaction with someone who I run into every couple of months.

I stopped by to talk to him today about a few things and mentioned I am now doing landscape work. He said it's funny because just the day before his boss (district manager) mentioned that he was no longer happy with his current company who they've used for 4 years.

Apparently this person no longer does any of the work and he subs it out and it's not getting done properly. My friend said he was going to e-mail his manager as soon as I left his house. He also gave me the guys email address and cell phone number.

This is for a 14 location $285 a month per store contract. I was told probably about 30 - 45 minutes per location.

I NEED this...

What should I say when I call or e-mail this person?

Stike while the iron is hot. If your friend is telling his boss about you, he should be expecting your call. You should inquire before someone else lands this account. You don't have the account now, so what do you have to lose? Just be professional and you should have nothing to worry about. Good luck.

The district manager said that the general manager didn't know what the hell he was talking about... that he is happy with his current landscaper.

Dang!
