With the new ZD's, I can't see how there's any way possible to pull the roll bar off. It's almost to the point where the whole mower is built around the ROPS. I suppose one could pull the top 1/2 of the roll bar off, and just have the uprights left on the mower.

Believe me, if my dealer would take it back in trade that way, I'd be all over it.
However, they won't take a trade if the ROPS has been tampered with, so.....

Soild rubber front tires for my ZD-28
My front tires on my ZD28 ,were tearing up lawns when turning.Goodyear tire shop filled my tires with solid rubber .This increased the weight of each tire to 35 lbs,but it does not damage lawns and feels like power steering.Money well spent!

we have run the zd series since its conception with the first we owned being a zd21 without a roll bar. that was a while ago!!!! then we got a newer one with a pro deck and the roll bar. that thing got in the way of everything. we then purchased 3 zd 28s and overall loved them but the seat sucked and the transmisions were crap, nothing but problems . the waranty and dealer were great . we traded up to the new zd326 with 60 inch decks and theses babies are awesome. yeah, the added weight does hider you on slopes. you WILL slide and stuff. but the trans is way better and much stonger and simpler to work on. you have to learn this machine like a newbie if you know what i mean. even after running other ztrs and other kubotas, these new ones are real touchy. but if patient and all you will leran to operate them and not tear the turf. i have found with wear and break in now at 150 hrs the controls are much easier to handle. the new roll bars do not get in the way of anything so i find nothing to complain about them being there.
