New 36wb-how to space break levers closer?

Hi, I just bought a Scag 36 belt driven wb. My hands are very small for a man, even though I'm about 5 ft 6, my hands are about the length of a man probably 5ft. So the break grips on each side are way too far from the handles for me to reach without straining each time. Surely there is a way to space these breaks closer to the handle bars for people with smaller hands right? Can anyone tell me how this is done?

I haven't really noticed any way to adjust mine, I'll look at it though.
