Robin string trimmers?

I read on this site way more than I actually post. However, I never see that many posts on Robin trimmers.

The reason why I am posting this is because I was a an auction last week and picked up a Robin trimmer that came with 3 blades. Only paid 85 dollars for it. I feel that was an exceptional deal. There is a dealer locally here that sells Robin's, and Husquvarna, and he said that Robin's are great trimmers.

I brought this thing home and I have to say this trimmer is way more comfortable than most trimmers I have ran. Note I have ran or held almost all commercial trimmers at one time or another. Now for my liking, I don't like the big bulky trimmers, I for one prefer the lighter trimmers. Overall I must say this is my number 1 trimmer I grab now. The Husqvarna has moved to second place.

On a side not referring to the power of this trimmer. I installed the saw blade for cutting small saplings and small diameter trees's. Man that thing was cutting down some trees about the diameter of you taking your index finger and touching your thumb. I was very impressed.

Does anyone else run Robin trimmers? If so please share.

P.S. Oh yea I will snap some pics if anyone would like.

Yes, I also have a Robin strimmer and I will not trade that for the world. Very lightweight and easy to use and also starts first time everytime. I am thinking of getting another.

Not to burst your bubble, but Home Depot has them on sale for 45.00
I have a bent shaft one that we used for doing hills with one hand.

I've got probably a half dozen of them and love the light weight and the price. I'm buying the straight shaft 1.1hp models for around $190 delivered.........Lynn

I like the NB2050.

They make quality stuff, but I do not care for the bump head design.

In any event, I've never known them to be sold at Home Depot.

You're right. They aren't sold at the Home Depot.

Dolmar has been using Robin to build their trimmers for years. They have aquired the line totally now but you have always been able to get a Robin or Dolmar...same thing.

I'd have to agree. I have a TON of hours on an MS22c (NB2050 w/ 22cc engine). I love the light weight and power. Most LCOs hate the large debris shield by I like a shield that can deflect the dog-rockets before they touch my lips.

DUH!!! I've been saying it for years but I guess they're not as widely distributed as the big boys.
I knew they made rebadged trimmers for Makita and Green Machine years ago but did Dolmar aquire Robin?
BTW, the US importer is in Winston-Salem, NC (Carswell) so that may be why they're more prevalent in these parts. Tony

In NH you can walk into any Home depot and buy one. That is where I got mine.
There are also many low end Echo unit there. I don't mean it as a slam.
But they are a lot cheaper at the HD

ps

their heads suck,
