Isn't that funny Tommy. Some of the best looking demos I have set up have passed on having it done permenant. At least you got a priceless photo out of it. That alone was worth the whole demo. I set one up tonight that is going to be in a photo shoot on wed. for some magazine. They are coming to shoot the inside of his house, and I just happened to stop by and asked to set up a demo, so it too will be included in the magazine. I think he said Architectural digest, but I am not certain. The house is worth about 2 mil. and there is absolutely zero lighting. Not even soffit lighting. Can you say easy sell.

AD doesn't show lighting much, if you get a pic and a name in that would be huge!

Congratulations Tim. Talk about being at the right place at the right time. I can't wait to see the article. It will be interesting to see if they can beat your photos. Are you going to post any of the demo?

Yes, I will post some of the demo tonight. I have a few more lights I am going to set up from the pergola of his patio for some downlighting and then take some photos. I am meeting with the photographer tomorrow to coordinate timing of his shoot. This one was a tough one for getting lights everywhere that I would normally put them in a final install. The roof is cut up and there are no gutters on the higher roof lines. I told the owner I would normally add lights in particular areas, but it was just a demo so he would have to use his imagination a little bit. Overall though it looks alright. I will post pics later.

just because they have an incredible back yard and the demo looked incredible doesnt mean they had the moolah to do the project. What reason did they give Tommy ?

They had the money, just could not justify the expense. They could not see or find value in great lighting. Usually I pick these people out in my prescreening/prequalifying, this one was unusual. It makes for great conversation when I show the picture in my portfolio and tell them it is only 4 lights, then I show them others in the 50-100 fixture range. The picture made the effort worth it. It is rare that I do a demo and don't get the job these days.
