When weeding, the best way to make sure you are removing a weed and not a valuable plant is to pull on it. If it comes out of the ground easily, it is a valuable plant.

Sorry Newt* but soap and water is not the answer it is not a cost effective method or actually a proven method of killing Chinch. Soap and water isn't even being pushed by the Ecology Action Group here any more.
I have been having great success with NEEM OIL. 100% natural and a kill ratio of about 98%.
