They probably get around 8mpg with the stop and go. The International gets 7.5-8mpg, the 4500 gets 8mpg.........everything is around 8mpg. My '02 pickup w/ 6.0L gets 8.5-9.5 with a trailer behind it but that wasn't stop and go lawn mowing driving. My '07 DMAX gets 14mpg around town and 17mpg highway but I think I've got a bad injector. I've added a programmer and 4" exhaust from the downpipe back, deleting all of the re-gen/cat junk and should be getting 20-22mpg highway.

I have the same truck. How do you like it with DPF off? I have been debating pulling it off of mine, but am a little concerned about my warranty. What kind of programmer did you go with? Any issues?

Warranty is open to interpretation and where you take it......wink wink. But you do run that risk.

I'm running an Edge Race programmer. You can safely turn up the power another 100hp but after that you need more aftermarket parts. At that point I'm around 450hp and 800tq and surprise a lot of people haha. I normally run around with only a 40hp tune because of towing etc.

A programmer will really wake up the truck and it will feel like a whole new machine you're driving. I got it from here: http://www.alligatorperformance.com/

Looking back, I might would have gone with EFI Live vs a programmer. I may ditch the Edge.........idk. I do have issue with 3rd gear but it's not throwing any codes for transmission slipping or my torque converter. This is why I believe I may have a bad injector. Not getting adequate fuel and the computer cutting power. Lift the throttle, shift to 4th and I can hammer back on it. Not sure yet but driven like normal there is no issue, it just makes hotrod'n the truck not so much fun at the moment due to whatever it is.

Ive got the same truck, programmer, and exhaust (only mine is 5 inch), from the same place as you, and knock on wood no problems so far at 100800 miles. I would recommend to anyone to get rid of the dpf/cat and all that stuff not only for power and performance but the fuel economy as well. I agree about going with EFI live or PPE or something like that just because of the "custom" part of it. Im not sold on having just what Edge loads for you to run. But hey, definitely a huge improvement over factory.

When I'm driving straight highway at 65-68mph cruise set I have hand calculated 22mpg. Totally different story around town in stop and go traffic or even a mixture of highway and city I'm right around 14.

I'm sitting on 14.5 around town/city at the moment. Highway, as mentioned, 17....maybe 17.5 if lucky but I'm doing 70mph.

I've hand calculated a couple times but have always found the computer to be dead on. When it says how many gallons I've used the pump even cuts off within two tenths. I'm easily entertained sometimes haha.

I used to run around on a 80hp tune and sometimes the 105hp tune but typically keep it at 40hp now. I turned it up the other day and still had the problem but still a fun. As my brother put it after he drove it with the programmer turned up a bit "there's just something about a fast truck". Especially if you do 4wd but you have to be careful with that.

Haha he is right on when he says that. Which level is the 40hp? I have mine on level 4 now but usually in the spring and summer it stays on level 2. I really like the exhaust break feature on that level but it seems like I get better mileage on level 4...that is if i keep my foot out of it for the whole tank haha. Havent had it any above 4 because i have heard of some issues with the tranny slipping and such but man I know what it does on 4 so 5, 6, and 7 must be pretty scary.

Todd, I have a 4700 and have been keeping an eye open for a SNG for it, or contemplating another truck with one. Just wondering if you already bought the extra system? was it used? what are you looking at as far as being under 20k? Thanks!

I always thought poly was more for mositure issues? Than water issues. A basement usually has the A/C intake drawing in air and piping water out. So the A/C keeps mositure down.

For 10 yrs I rented a dairy barn as our shop, built in 1929, on damp humid days whew-we could you see the moisture comin through the 8" floor!
