Well thanks Mr. DVS! Ah yes, I hear an easy, steady rain outside and we just finished seeding!

I'd rather it not rain for another 24hrs........I just poured concrete today and could make a muddy mess for tomorrow getting setup. For what its worth, I hate concrete. Covering it up is much more interesting.

can you explain how you lay that wall out to have a perfect little curve to it, or is it just eye ball the first coarse and thats the curve it going to follow?

is that set on a footing or just agg?

8"+ footing.......rebar, fiber and 3500psi concrete. Rebar comes up through the wall which will be filled solid Monday with 3500psi concrete + fiber. Prior to concrete a jumping jack compactor is run lots and lots in the footer.

This one I took paint, marked out the wall and dug away. Not to brag, but I'm actually very good with an excavator and eyeballed everything which turned out perfect actually. Yes, first course is the footprint that the others follow.

You can but we partially fill the soil against the block and start veneering from below grade and go up from there. The soil acts as our ledge and once the mortar sets, the ledge is not needed. Also keeps things easier in terms of material because its all one size block.
