Hours on a kawasaki
How many hours are you guys putting on your kawasaki engines before you trade them in.

Kawasaki's are good, tough engines, imo. You should be able to get ~2000 hours or so on them if you are good with up-keep.

yeah i am not sure what they are rated for, but they are a good engine and two or three thousand hours is not unreasonable with good maintenance. but even more important than the maintenance is how you start and shut it off. always let it idle down for thirty seconds to a minute before shutting the key off. and when starting them, try without the choke for three or four cranks and then choke it with the idle low. keeps the cylinder walls from getting washed down with gas.

i have 2300 on my kawasaki liquid cooled. it smokes slightly on startup, but runs great so i keep using it
