BR340 won't idle or accelerate

I have a Stihl BR340 blower. It has been sitting for a few months, and wouldn't start last week. I took apart the carb, sprayed and blew out all ports, and reassembled. It ran fine. It then developed a gas leak from the carb from a gasket, so today I replaced the gaskets. Now, when I start it, the engine runs, but will not accelerate without dying. To keep it running, I have to put it on full choke for a quick second, then switch it back. It will then rev up for a few seconds, then slow down. If I don't keep switching the choke to full and back, it will die. I can't accelerate even after I switch it to full choke and back. Adjusting the idle speed and H & L screws didn't seem to make a difference. Thanks

you need a new carb. if it's been sitting for a few months the gas gummed up and regardless if you spray carb cleaner it wont work to the fullest potential. you might want to change your fuel filter also.

It ran fine before I changes the gaskets, though, so the carb's not completely bad. I think I screwed something up on the reassembly. Any guesses?

I guess you installed the full kit...the needle valve and its actuator? May have got gaskets out of sequence....cant help fix....

What gasket did you replace? Maybe you installed it wrong? I'll bet you have the gasket on the wrong side of the diaphram.

Possibly. Anyone have the exploded diagram? I guess it will just be trial and error.

I replaced all the gaskets, but not the needle. Maybe I knocked that out of whack when I reassembled. I'll replace that, too and see what happens.

yeh teh solution is prolly in them 2 carb adjustments screws, fun fun.
