Simplicity Citation
We purcashed a Citation with 52" deck about 1 year ago. Since then we have had to replace the drive belts 2 times, replacing them in pairs. Now today we have another drive belt shreaded. This time severing the clutch wires. We purcased a new belt and i think they finally upgraded the strength of the belts, instead of 2 singles they have went with the type that are 1 solid, 2 v-belts connected together. Is anyone else having these problems? i know from the thicker belt that the dealer gave us that it will be ontop of the clutch wires. We only mow once a week maybe 4 acres worth, after each time the mower gets blowed off with compressed air. and thourely greased. Any help or information would be appreciated

we sold alot of ferris units that had the same issue. Once the new style belt was put on, we haven't seen any other failures.

gee great.. i feel like the lawnmower is the same as microsofts windows Vista. Hurry up and ship it out with out testing and let the owner deal with the problems, and untill they find out what a issue is when people start saying something then they act on the repair method

they originally had the two belt system so if you broke one belt you could finish out the day and then get them changed. Most of the time when the one belt breaks it takes out the other one. At least thats been our experience. you shouldn't have any more isssues with the new style belt.

they should, all they did was take the old part number and supercede the new belt for it. All the belts we have changed have had the two belt system and we installed the new style belt.
