Do you have the License?

I don't have mine because of the cost to get it.

Not sure about where you live, but here in fla which to my understanding is a very strict state when it comes to this stuff, does not require you to have a license to put down straight fert. It can not contain any weed control, has to be pure furt.

Green-pa,

Give the guys at Purdue Turfgrass(internet search)a call, as they can point you to some local fert dealers. Store bought fert is always outrageously priced anyway. I can get most of what I need for $13-19 a bag, the last fert I got was 30-2-10 with iron for a hair over $13/bag which covers 14.5k feet. Good luck, read up and learn.

Call your local cooperative extension agent. They should be able to help you.

I usually charge the price of the fertilizer times two. So if it cost me 20 dollars for a bag and i use the whole bag i would charge 40 dollars

I think all you guys are a little low. Nothing less than $50 a yard for a 5000k yard. They are paying for your knowledge and the fact you have that license. You have more than time and gas involved. Liscensing fees, insurance (a must), potential for plant damage and replacement. Don't sell yourself short to just to make 20 bucks.
