I have a Ransome 95D (9 1/2' cut, winged), model number 946980, serial number 94690000679 that I would like to find out more about. I am afraid when something breaks I won't be able to find parts. I have tried to find out from Jacobsen and from a local dealer but have had no luck. Anybody have any ideas on how I can find parts if nobody has this in their computer?

Ransomes is(or was) a Bobcat product you may be able to get some info from them.

Would the pic below look like your unit with a 51hp Perkins and 4wd ?

Yes, that is it in the picture. It has the Perkins diesel and is 4wd just as you said. What else can you tell me? Know where I can get a parts manual, owners manual....anything!?

All I can supply is parts look-up, I didn't see the wing mower on the site MM posted.

Click the link below
Click on "select a catalog" drop-down arrow
Click on Textron then Bobcat
Click on Rotary then scroll down to wing mower

It will list the model numbers, Click on 946900 "ALL" and that should cover your unit.

With part numbers in hand you should be able to have any Textron/Bobcat/Jacobson dealer order parts in.

You may try contacting Bobcat at the link MM posted for any manuals.

Thanks! That is a great help. I also discovered it is supposed to be 951D and once I found that out I was able to search and find a little more. Thanks again for your help.

Not sure on that particular unit but you may have some issues finding parts for some of the older Ransomes units. Textron sold the Bobcat line to a new company called CGC. But they kept the Jacobsen line. The Bobcat line really only covers the walkbehinds and ZTR's and not a whole lot else.

If your local dealer has issues ask them to get in touch with CGC directly if they can. They might be more helpful than the distributors for some of that older stuff.

The 951D was not taken over by the CGC company. You can get parts for that unit from any Textrom/Jacobsen dealer. Here are two phone numbers that are Distributors in your area for the product. C & M Golf & Grounds Equipment, Waco TX...254-776-4663, and San Antonio TX...210-657-3511. They should be able to help you. There are still parts avail for that machine although they do not make it anymore. The predessor to the 951D was the 6150D. I have hours upon hours of repair experience on those units..........not all good experiences. They were like working on a ship in a bottle. Great machines when working properly.

Thanks Mowerman! That is good news to hear that I can still order the parts locally from a dealer. I really appreciate the help. I have not posted on here before and have been impressed with the help you can get! I hate to ask but what kind of problems did you see most? Everything is good right now.
