Valid reason NOT to have sign on truck or trailer?

I've seen a sizeable number of LCO in my area who do not have Company Sign or info of any kind on their truck or trailer. Even on commercial accounts. It's very obvious to me that they are doing this for a living. Is there any valid reason NOT to have your company sign on your truck or trailer?

All I can think of is the following:

They live in an area where the home owner association doesn't allow commercial vehicles parked on the street or driveway.

Company sign would require commercial vehicle & trailer licensing.

They are not remotely legitimate cash only un-licensed operator.

Personal privacy is of the utmost importance to the owner.

Any others?

Full schedule

only takes on work that has been referred by other customers

doesn't want to deal with having to remove the vinyl when he trades trucks

waiting on the sign company to get done with his sign so he can put it on the truck

hasn't thought about putting a sign on his truck

Reason my truck is not lettered is I drive like a total idiot most of the time, and I don't want people knowing who I am. Don't want to be drivin and have my cell phone ring with someone saying "hey a$$clown, you just cut me off" or "hey idiot my son just watched you run over our cat".

" but otherwise, i like to have it on their, b/c when i'm mowin a property people see my truck and take notice. and know i'm open for business.

Often I have, and sometimes not.

Not a lot of immediate business has come from lettering for me.

If anything, name recognition is a benefit.

Some folks have all the accounts they need, so why letter a vehicle and spend more money out of their income?

I just bought a new truck, and am thinking about letters now. Probably will go ahead for name recognition.

I buy new trucks from time to time, so I never letter them. I do have magnetic signs I put on if I am meeting a customer. But my truck is my family vehicle, so I usually skip the signs. I do have a large sign permanently bolted to the tailgate of my trailer.

Signs

The only time I ever got a negative call because of signs on the trailer was because of a parking dispute. I had parked in a lawyer's parking lot, next to the 7-11 store I was going into early one morning (There were downed power lines in the 7-11 p-lot). It was a good area, so I left the NPR diesel idling. When I came out there was this prick lawyer screaming into his cell phone, he had my keys in his hands, and was saying into the Phone that he was going to hold my truck until I, the owner came down to get it. He got the surprise of his life, when I tapped him on the shoulder, said I was the owner, and to give me the keys NOW or I would call the police on him and charge HIM with possession of stolen property! It was priceless to have seen the look on his face as he about shat his pants, looking at the size of me, between him and any escape. He dropped the keys on ground and RAN back to his office.
