Renovation of lawn

I went to give a bid for work a referral customer needed done.
The area has rocks in it, and is hard and unlevel.
I want to till, remove the rocks, level and seed and straw.
Is this a good time to do this as it would be a dormant seeding.
Has anyone done this with good results.
I went down to the Crossroads
Fell down on my knees

If the customer has any expectation of a nice looking lawn...tell them to wait until fall if they want to seed.

Otherwise, use sod after doing the proper site prep.

If you seed bare ground especially after tilling or harley raking this time of year, you are going to have major errosion issues when the spring rains finally do come back again. You will also fight major weed issue in the spring if attempting to do a bare ground renovation.

Dormant over seeding (power seeding) is effective to thicken an established lawn, but you will get poor results for a residential lawn when starting from bare ground. This is done on construction sites and rite-of-way areas because the expectations are low.

Hope this helps.
