on occasion i use dish soap as a sticker. Cheap and my lawns smell pretty.

wetting agents act as a penetrant, spreader stickers spread the solution out then dries not to bead up and run off i believe both are considered surfactants thus some confusion...

i think what you want to look at is a product called ecosential moisture mgr at lesco or hydratrain elsewhere (same product) works good in drought situtions the key is appling it b-4 the drought and maintaining.

I tried to find the product and learned it is called Hydretain, not hydratrain, from a company called Ecologel down in Ocala. I bought some through their website for use on containerized plants where we have had problems with hydrophobic soils and the stuff works!

Anyone familiar with Reservoir, a soil moisture retention adjuvant from a company named Helena in TN? The soil I deal with is sandy loam, and we have a high water table. They claim this product will also reduce leaching of other applied materials.
