2008 sign-ups are too funny U2?

We sent out just over 3000 renewal forms January 1st. We're starting to get them back now. Most compliment us for good work, yet a few baffle me.

Here's two that did not renew their 2008 service:

1) "You seeded the bad areas of my lawn in 2006. It's not coming up yet." Problem is....we have never seeded this guy's lawn.

2) "Your overspray killed our flowers & shrubs". Problem there was, it was her first & only app in 2007 -- late fall winterizer in November (fert only granules).

I figure these people have personal problems, so they make themselves feel better by deflecting their unhappiness in life toward service companies?

Conversely, I admire those who come out & say they just can't afford our service right now. At least they're honest & respectful.

Anybody else get some of these? rscvp, thanks

So far, it looks like a record year (like last year) regarding sign-ups & prepay customers. Regarding how many accounts we have lost due to raisng prices by a buck or two....looks like not many whatsoever. I'll know at year's end 2008.

I used to use "projections", but now we just see what happens at year's end.

Americanlawn, What type of trucks do you use for the fertilizing. F250, Flat beds, or F150. I am looking to buy, and I am undecided on a F250 or a flatbed. Thanks

I was just messing around! Larry is a good man and not only do we share VERY similar political views (as we're both really big Hillary fans )....but we also love our Chevy trucks!

Personally I drive a 06 2500HD pickup with a regular bed. Works great for me...but have a buddy in the business and he has a flatbed and it is sweet!

If I had it to do over again....I would definitly go with a flat bed and with a hoist!

Flat beds are easier to load and unload fert and the bed is wider!

I don't think the flat bed is as "professional looking"...but it seems to me like it would just work better.

When not in use for lawn care (fert and squirt) you could add sides and haul mulch, soil or anything else you want!

Where are you located in this great state?
