I have a small skid (2 - 50 gallon tanks with a hose reel) that I use to tender water to my PG. I can stack about 30 bags of fert on the truck or put a whole skid on there if a big day.

I carry my PG on the reese hitch...which is also where you could carry your spreader (carrier rack).

I am very close to you as I live in West Alexandria. Small town close to Eaton.

Americanlawn,
LOL, we get those same statements with the renewals too. Its amazing how some poeple will justify their reluctance to renew by strumming up a problem they have that they never said a word about during the season or by making some "off the wall" statement regarding their lawn and landscape.

I was just joking, so please noone please take this serious!

Talking about trucks, ride ons, organics vs. normal people , politics and religion all in the same category!

We can argue all day, but there is no right anwers!

Like your idea on the low cost rollerblade application equipment BTW!

We won't know until sometime this summer if we will lose customers due to price increase -- feedback we're getting so far is that people expect price hikes nowadays.

A handful of customers (probably less than 2%) wait until summer before they decide to resume service -- usually cuz the hubby isn't doing what the wife expected. (trying to do it himself)

So far, we're running at a record pace for pre-pays. Prepay money is due by March 1st. Nearly 40% of our customer base sign back up after March 1st. (It's human nature to put things off 'til the last minute). We have never had more than a 10% cancellation rate.

We just sent out nearly 300 sign-up forms to those who we did estimates for last year but didn't take our service...I expect at least 10% of them will go with us this year.

Now I'll be sending out commercial bids and running new estimates. (hope it doesn't snow for a while)

"I'm a Ford truck MAN" (an old Toby Keith commercial featuring a cowboy with missing teeth) ......................................................NOT!!!

General Motors trucks RULE! I don't care if it's GMC or Chevy, I would NEVER pick a ford or dodge --- that's like picking Hillary or Obama.

I'm just poking fun, but rcreech thinks along the same lines as I do.

6ofus........Seriously, we run 8 pickup trucks & one GMC W5500 flatbed w/800 gallon split tanks. Our pickups are GMC & Chevy 2500HD's. Half tons don't work for us cuz they cannot handle the weight of 300 gallon Tuflex spray tanks, one or two Hannay hose reels w/400 feet of hose, Honda 5.5 hp engines, D-30 Hypro pumps, plus bags of dry fert. We like pickups cuz they are maneuverable, easy to maintain, and they have a smoother ride.

But flatbed trucks offer flexibility, so it all depends on what you need for your operation. Everybody's different.

We like pickup trucks best. Most of our apps are dry, so we use carrier racks for our push spreaders that slide into the receiver hitch. To me - it's the only way to go.

Then there is which brand of fert spreader is best ......I have an opinion.

I love it!

A hummer would look pretty good with a boom on it!

Hope you are having a good one Mark!
