It is a very broad question
In the northeast there are many companies to get organic ferts from as they have been doing it in that area for longer than most
In Michigan I don't really know, look for Nutrient Plus they have some great products made from composted chicken poo
I believe a couple of their reps hang out on this site

You rang? In addition to Nutrients PLUS, we handle many organic soil amendments.

Thanks Barry
You are the master of the organic fert realm, enlighten us.

BTW Extreme, I don't consider miracle grows chopped up chicken feathers an organic fertilizer but basically toxic waste in real nice package. There are no nutrients or beneficial microrganisms in the package for me to consider it in any program that I would use. There are many instances of "ORGANIC" ferilizers that are toxic waste in a bag.
Look for something that has a good balance of organic matter and nutrients. In its basic form compost fits the bill very well you just need to have a competent source of compost, ask for the bio-assay data. Meals (alfalfa, soy, etc.) are also good to supply the needed carbohydrates and proteins that the soil needs to thrive.

there are many options out there but typically shipping is the biggest issue as it is not cost effective to buy fertilizers that need to be shipped from 100's of miles away. Often your options are what is made locally or locally stocked.

There is no such thing as instant compost tea. That's marketing hype.

You don't need to pay 6 times more for manufactured organic fertilizers, just use protein meals that you can obtain from your local feed and grain store.

Gerry,
What about extracted compost teas?
Sounds instant to me, or as instant as you can get. You can make up 100's and even 1000's of gallons of compost tea in just a few minutes.

SGI in Texas can make up 3000 gallons of compost tea in 1 hour

Gerry, I'll show you my SFI results if you show me yours
