55 Gal Sprayer

Where can you get a 50 gal skid sprayer for treating lawns for a decent price?? I found one at Northern Tool for $1,700, 55 gal, 5.5hp Honda, 5gpm and 150ft of 3/8 hose. Is it a good deal?

That about the going rate for a sprayer that size w/ hose real and 150' of hose. You can get them cheaper but most of the cheaper ones only have around 20' of hose and no hose real. If your going to be spraying lawns I would recommend that you go with a 100 gal tank over the 50 gal. We use 25-50 gal on just 1 lawn depending on the size of the yard.

I know this will be posted, so I will post it FIRST. Dang... Typed too slow! Was beat to it... So "second"

Go bigger... I know you may only "need" a 50 gallon tank now, but before you know it you will find that you can only do a couple lawns, if even that, on a 50 gallon tank. I made the mistake too. I bought a 100 gallon Lesco model, even though the 200 gallon was only $100 more... I have some lawns that take the whole tank to spray... Talk about buyers remorse! And I was applying at 1.5 gal. per K.

Of course if you are going to use this ONLY for small lawns, or for filling a ride-on tank, then it would be great. I'd still look at Lesco/ JDL. Though I don't know if they are even selling sprayers now... Their 50 gallon sprayer is pretty nice, and about that price I think.

Yeah after the buy out by JD it looks like they don't sell sprayers now.

I can get a 200 gal for 2700 and 300 ft of hose. Maybe I'll do that.

Lesco routinely sells their 50 gallon sprayer with 200' of 3/8" hose and a good gun for under $2,200.
Much better than those Northern Tool sprayers with their weak frames.

I just checked out Northern Tool web site and after looking at the different model sprayers they have and price, go with the 200 gal. You will be much happier with the 200 gal overall in the long run.

All of the money is in the engine / pump / plumbing... The tank itself is very cheap. You can buy a 300 gallon tank by itself for around $250..

So... get a good pump, and 5.5 hp engine, in case you want to upgrade later..

I was wondering why I couldn't access any information on lescos site about sprayers. I thought they just had a crap web site.

Anyway, theres a guy here who will post something like, "I've have nothing but good things to say about Gregson-clark" if he's off today, I will type it for him.

But they do have exactly what I want, it looks nice anyway. It's the V200, their link is at the top of this page. So I was wondering if anyone knows how much their 200 gal tank system costs?

it's $2900... really more like $3500 w/ shipping etc.

I have one.. and I'm trying to sell it right now.. Actually it's allready mounted in a chevy 3500 crew cab if anyone wants it! Truck, sprayer, or both.

It's a great sprayer, but I didn't think it is a very efficiant use of space.. I don't particularly like the amount of room it takes up in the back of my pickup. if I can't sell it, I'll prolly just order a new tank, and have a welder modify the cage..
