The shop I work in has not accepted residential equipment for over 3yrs now maybe 4, and I have to be honest we don't miss them
As our labor rate reached over $60 it was no longer cost effective to fix most of it and it saves 100 phone calls a week from homeowners that dropped their 10yr old 21" or $100 Home Depot weedy and need them before Saturday or the city is going to fine them for the grass being 5" high

Plus most LCO's don't want to hear that their $10,000 mower is sitting while I look at homeowners pos

Life is an unrelenting comedy. Therein lies the tragedy of it.

How can I soar like an eagle, when I'm surrounded by turkeys?

Very limited, I have done some residential but it has only been larger tractors.
My previous post was concerning the shop setting I'm still in. Once I go full time with the mobile I will just play it by ear. Homeowners are not my main focus but if I need work I will take it.

That wouldn't be the same mower that hasn't seen an oil change or a blade sharpened or the air filter exchanged...
No wait, it's more than a few years old and it hasn't had a thing done to it except gas put in since day 1, it's not that machine is it?

Yeah that one where your hardiest air tool turned up to 140 psi can't even get the blade off because it's never come off, that one?

I don't do repairs but I can see that, you see their mower, I see their yard.

Dang straight, I'll even pay you extra not to

I will say this thou, some of the savvier long haulers in the repair / dealer business have one commercial store and another for residential, providing exclusive service helps keep us out of each other's hair and to each their own.
