48lazer vs48metro

If I can cut 8-10 1/2 acre lawns per day with a 48metro, how much increased production will I have if I were to buy a 48lazer z rider mower?

Well, it's not going to go up any significant numbers, or any at all, but you will be able to sit on all the jobs instead of stand or walk.

I would suggest getting the rider to make your comfort level higher, sitting is better than standing. Plus the option of a leaf vac for it.

Might be a lot less tired at the end of the day.

Go with a 52" Lazer Z HP with a 23hp Kawi. You have increased speed (over other HP's) and increased cut, plus you sit. Why are you stuck on a 48"?

TLS,

my question more or less revolves around the 8grand investment being that much more productive

I've asked myself this same question, Ive looked at the spec's in regards to deck performance for both machines. I beleive that the deck spec's are the same for both of the machines. So there for regardless of the speed that can be obtained from the lazer you only can go so fast to obtain a qaulity cut which would be the same speed of the that the metro would be going to give a qaulity cut. I can not afford to spend the extra 5000 to 6000 dollars to sit down

Just cut, kinda what i was thinking. I mean I will shell out 8grand if it allows me to produce a few more lawns a day. Heck if a crew cuts 2 more yards, at 35 per yard, thats 70 extra profit. Multiply that by 5 days a week, 20 days a month. That would pay for itself in one year. Just wondering if that production increase is possible.

Yes, much more productive.

48" @ 3mph = approx 1 ac./hr (48" Walkbehind)
48" @ 6mph = approx 2 ac./hr (48" Lazer)
52" @ 6mph = approx 2.5 ac./hr (52" Lazer)
60" @ 6mph = approx 3 ac./hr (60" Lazer)

Plus, ask your kids/wife/girlfriend how much more productive you'll be @ 9 pm at night!

But how misleading are those in yards that are only 1/2 acre with mulch beds to go around, guess thats the question.

Even better! What gear do you mow in with the Metro? 2 or 3, and you leave it there. With the Lazer's you'll be zooming here and there, only slowing to turn and stop. Its so much more productive that you'll hardly use your WB. I only use mine where the 60" will not go (gates, pools, real steep hills) I think with the horsepower increase, they cut better and quicker.

Yeah you are probably thinking....for 8K I can get 2 WB's but then you'll have to hire someone to work that other one! You can almost double your productivity, guaranteed if you go with a 52"!!!
