What do you charge for clean-ups??

Hi, looks like a great site. I was wondering what you guys charge to do fall and spring cleanups? I do this as a side job and another guy helps me do the work, and i charge $40/man hour as of now. So when i come to a cleanup and spend an hour with two people, it would be $80.00 I am just mulching the leaves with ztr's, no raking, also blowing the leaves out of beds and stuff like that. Do you guys think that is too expensive or not enough?? Thanks. Looking forward to your response.

Not bad. I get $75 per a man hour for vacing them up. T&M is the best way to go.

$65 per man hour to blow out beds, etc., with backpacks. $65 - $95 per man hour to use WB's with front-mounted Trac Vacs or 72" Toro Groundsmasters with rear vacuum systems.

I know a lot of people who don't mind mowing their own grass...haven't met too many people that like to rake their own leaves, though. That's why we charge what we do for Spring & Fall Clean-ups.

Hope that helps...

If you can pay your bills, cover your expenses, and keep a 40% profit then I would say that you are doing it right.

If you dont know what your costs are then you need to evaluate what they are and set your profits accordingly. I would think that for your position that the $40 should suffice. Many like to get $1/minute or as close to it as they can.

$1.08 per minute, plus disposal. and we get paid for every minute. if we start at 9:45 and stop at 11:47, we get 2 hrs and 2 minutes.

Bobby,

Just wondering how you came up with a number like $1.08/minute? Do you have a problem with customers and stopwatches?

Glen

I think he was shooting at $65/hr. However to make sure that he doesnt lose money he should change the buck 8 to $1.09 and then he will never be on the low side.
