Invoice Paper

Does anyone use a preprinted invoice form instead of having your software and printer fill out the borders of the invoice?

Do you think it is cost effective since some forms can go around $90 for 250? (compared to $7 for 500 that includes perforated end)

I am looking into continous forms (2-part) that are reasonable and still attractive (somewhere besides nebs). Dont really know if it will be worth the money though.

If you still use nebs or other let me know what you think.

Pre-printed is a huge waste of money (IMHO)

I buy my Invoices (blank paper) at Staples or Office Depot by the carton - about two bucks per 500 shets. Once a month, have QuickBooks batch print all my invoices at a time (I have just over 100 accounts).

If I want duplicates, I just print 2 copies each.

Also use window envelopes to save time addressing the bills.

I'm still a novice at Quickbooks, but love it.

Will is right. These are costs that can be kept cheap or can cost you a bundle and really, one is not much fancier than the other. I do exactly what Will does, it looks great and is about as cheap as you can get.

Now what about cost of ink? Since ink is being used very much....atleast it is with us the cost of preprinted paper might just come out the same.

We already have a good invoice and billing process. Just trying to weigh the pros and cons of each.

Alan

I print color invoices. Mostly black, but a little red and green. Printer cartriges for my HP 895Cse are just under $30 each. I print around 100 invoices per month, tons of letters, reports and stuff from Nick Jr. for my kids. I use 2 cartriges for each, one black and one color, every year. In short, I spend about $120 per year on printer cartriges.

Invoices can be printed on the computer easy enough. I think I am going to order pre-printed proposals with carbonless copies. How do you guys write up your estimates?

Used pre printed invoices for years, purchased through NEBS. Finally changed to blank 3part ncr, becasue I use so much of it for my custom work orders and applications that it wasn't worth changing paper all the time.

Next year with QBPro & QBExpress I'm not sure what I'll do but I'll be starting with blank 3 part.

We've always used 3 part, retaining 1 and mailing 2, with one of them to be returned with payment.
