Anyone landscaping under DBA?

I am setting up my business in the next day or 2. Does anyone run their business as a DBA or would you strongly recommend LLC. I'm in college, so my work will be limited to mostly residentials, maybe some small commercial. I will not have any employees and will be doing 30ish lawns per week, plus 40 driveways in the winter and any landscaping jobs I can get over the summer.

Not sure how it works in New York, but in Florida I already had an existing LLC set up for a commercial cleaning business and window cleaning business. For my lawn business, I set up a DBA to operate "underneath" the existing LLC. Make sense?

There are pros and cons to doing this....it really depends on what your long term strategy is for your business. Hope this helps.

I'm under a DBA. If you are starting out by yourself then I think a DBA is enough. If you are going to grow into a bigger company with several employees than you should probably upgrade.

D.B.A here. also, open a checking account and use a debit card (atm) for everything from gas to screws. It will be a lot easier using the bank statements come tax time. You could end up with a trash bag full of gas receipts,
I used to live in F.W on keystone dr, a long time ago.

Good Luck
