I like this thread. I am on the west side of the DFW area and been reading up on your irrigation stuff on the other forums. I enjoy watching what other companies are up to in the area, especially ones run by people around my age. Plus it gets me out more to improve my own company.

Its a small company now, that focuses on acre plus size yards. I keep between 20-30 yards a season. When I am not doing that, i am out working on either sprinkler systems or landscaping jobs. Did you start up the business or did you branch off from a family owned one? Btw the blueprints you had on our house looked great for the landscaping. What did you use for making them?

Took me about 7-8 months, but convinced the bank to do a shortsale on the property for about 1/3 of what the going cost of land is out there.

I could sell the lot and make 6 figures profit, but decided to build instead. Super awesome neighborhood and location to build a big shop on the back of the property.

My backyard is like 600-800 acres of corn. I can do whatever I want out here
Wow, thats alot of acres. Why not build the house deeper on the lot(farther away from the street)?

Its a one acre lot. That is a farm behind me that is owned by someone else. (I wish I could call that mine though, but I just found out I can hunt in it all I want though!)

Good deal with the property.

So how did the flyers go? How much new work were you able to bring in with the 30k of flyers?

I think we've sold a little under 50k in jobs so far for this year on them. Only landscape installs though. I've only gotten like 3 calls on maintenance which worries me though. I was expecting about 40-50 by now. Hopefully this week since its getting warmer.

What kind of software did you use for your design?
