Started out for Jap Maple but will block view of pond from swing. Right now it is a annual flower bedwithout flowers
TR- it is a polymer sand that you wet and it hardens

Not true. Nitrosomas and nitrobacter live on and in the filter material/substrate. There is very little impact on them.


Very nice looking pond and landscape!

That's what I am saying though. The benificial bacteria don't live in the water column.

It limits certain aspects that promote the the optimal growth of bacteria in the filter media and in the gravel bottom. No ones going to punish you if you use one, I just believe from 15 years exp. that its a quick fix that can be treated just as effectivly in other ways.

Well water is crystal clear now and we have some algea growing in the stream so we may have the best of both

Ok so this is my first pond

My back is so tired and sore, but i finally finished the hard part today, i got all the largest stone in and water running. I couldn't get any of my friends to help me on this so i shoveled and hand lay ed every single stone i just hope my back will heal up so i can finish the planting and mulch later this week.
