My latest Demo! 60 " Lazer Z

Today I picked up a 60" liquid cooled Lazar Z. Going to mow my largest account down by the ocean (next to one of the best sea food restaurants as well). Am considering the scaled down version but I showed up to load the demo up and the salesman said "All I have is this new liquid cooled with the new 32 HP engine". Gee wiz! I'm going to have some fun tomorrow! I'm sure there is a reason this thing is priced @ $13,000.00. Like to here some reasons why?!

Cordiallly,
Sheppard

The whole machine is totally different from the regular Lazer Z.

1.) Engine 31hp LC small car engine.
2.) Engine is mounted LOW. Very low center of gravity. Way nicer than the original Z.
3.) Way bigger pumps and wheel motors. They operate on lower pressure, higher volume and last much longer.

Basically the whole machine is designed to last 5-6000 hours instead of 3-4000 hours and the price reflects that.

Sure would be fun to cut all day with that. I demo'd a diesel 72" one time.

He was taking it for a Demo.

The only thing is you demo'ed that model but are considering another, after riding on that monster you may be disapointed.

I heard that the 31hp Gas Daihatsu is VERY thirsty when it pulls up to the pumps. The Diesel would be my choice on a 60". If I wanted a 72", that 27 may be underpowered, as I think SCAG turbo's their Daihatsu and gets 31 hp on the Diesels. They are impressive, just a little too porkey for my lawns. They are 489lbs heavier than a regular Lazer!!! Heck thats almost as much as Sir Lawrence the Gorilla weighs!

WAY too heavy. It just seems stuffy. Try one of the other Lazers, ePECially the EPS. You'll fall in love! Don't let him tell you one isn't available. If you're considering buying one, let him know they are TWO DIFFerent machines. Tell him we said so, and that you'd like to try a model that is better suited to your needs!
Oh, by the way.... "cutting near the ocean", - now THAT'S enough to make me sick!

Now the rest of the story!

Man that thing is heavy!!! Ran it on my big account down by the gulf. Handled great, was very quiet- hummed right along. Felt like I could dig a trench with out trying with that 32 HP. Had the standard blades on it and used it on Bahai grass- worked just fine. Had the expensive seat on it- did not feel any of the big bumps. Compared to other mowers I've demo'd the seat adjustment did not seem to have the full range like the Hustler. But the comfort of the seat is incredible. Makes me want to get it on the smaller version Lazer. The only thing I do not like about the Lazer Z is the necessity of getting under the deck to change the blades. All in all a great system.

Cordially,
Sheppard
