I own the John Deere and it is a great little mower. However I like the Honda too, but don't own one. I did make a cheap stripe kit and it works wonderful. Just take a look! It starts on first pull every time, and does a good job for what it's for. I will say the one thing I hate is the bagger. Everything gets blown through the bag into my face. Oh well, can't have it all I guess.

I am a JD fan, but these are pushers and I think Honda is your best bet

Honda #1 in mulching

I made a stupid choice several years ago. Wanted a good mulcher. Bought a Snapper with the ninja blade. With one pass, any debris was invisibe. The Honda does the same. 2 years later, the engine rattled itself apart. Wasted. Yeah, I saved $200.00, but if I got the Honda, I'd still have a great mower. JD? Nope.

I have a 21" Honda comm'l that was bought new in the early 80's. Its almost 20 years old. I still used it until this year. I don't even carry a 21" anymore. Refuse to take any job I would need it on. But, the little motor still starts on the very 1st pull everytime.
